Collection of 238 sheets of drawings illustrating Greek and Roman portrait busts and including an alphabetical index and notes. It represents the work of Fulvio Orsini on portraiture during his later years. It followed the publication of Orsini's Imagines illustrium (1570) and served as the basis for two other iconographical studies of the period, those of Theodore Galle and Joannes Faber.

The Scrinium of the Roman Church existed from the 4th century, functioning as both library and archives. In the 6th century it was under the Primicerius Notariorum (see ID VATV032-A). By the end of the 8th century it was headed by the Bibliothecarius, who also served as the chancellor. This library was lost in the 13th century.
